December 7, 2009 - SuperATC released

SuperATC©
permits you to speak with the Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) using "real world"
communication protocols. The SuperATC system listens to what you say, parses the
phraseology, then automatically makes the appropriate Radar Contact menu
selections for you. It's truly amazing to see how it works!

Contact here.

release notes can be found
here. Please,
Please read them, and follow the steps. Those who do, have had no
problems, and are running RCv4.3 with FSX. Those who don't, are getting

September 21, 2006 FS Magazine Review available
I received permission to post this
review on my website
July 24, 2006 - 4.2 upgrade is now available for download
You MUST have previously installed version 4.01 (4.0.3737).
You can download the 4.01 upgrade from
here before installing
the 4.2 upgrade.
The 4.2 upgrade is simply a replacement executable in a zip
file. All you have to do, is download it, and unzip it INTO the current Radar
Contact directory (by default, \rcv4)
If your Radar Contact default directory is on a different drive
than the "boot" drive (the drive where windows is installed), you will need to
request a new key by emailing
register@jdtllc.com AFTER the 4.2 upgrade is applied. Sorry for the
inconvenience.
4.2 fixes what some people experienced after the 4.01 upgrade,
stutters as I build the sound file to play. Even if you didn't experience
stutters after the 4.01 upgrade, you should still install 4.2
4.2 also includes fixes for the following:
- a bug in the emergency vectoring code, if you were almost
above the airport you decided to divert to
- using the great circle calculations to determine if you off course
when the checkpoints are FAR apart
- when you missed a crossing restriction, and progressed a
checkpoint,
the heading watchdog gave you the wrong heading to fly
- once and for all, the interpretation of "resume own navigation"
will
be put to rest. instead of saying "resume own navigation" you will be
"cleared direct xyz then as filed"
- some improvements in phraseology
- pre-recorded chatter will now continue to play after midnight
- invalid cruise flight levels (0, and 38000, etc) will be caught on
the controllers page
- AI chatter at uncontrolled airports is improved
- ultimate airlines flight plans will now load correctly
- a new option to hide the first line of the advdisp/fsuipc window
for IFR training is now available.
The link for the 4.2 update is
http://www.davevollmer.com/rcv4_3831.zip
If you have problems after the installation, be sure that the new .exe
is in the radar contact directory. If you still need assistance, you can
get help from the AVSIM forum for Radar Contact
here.

November 11, 2005 - Version 4, build 3670 is Golden
Several months ago Doug guessed that November 11, 2005 would be
the day we finalize the code, the graphics, the cd image, etc. We made it.
Hats off to Team Radar Contact. And it is significant, that I place the
word "TEAM" in front of Radar Contact. This has been a team effort.

The final edits were done this evening, one last proof read by

October 10, 2005 - Where are the Radar Contact Users?

Click on the thumbnail on the left. I used Map Point 2003 to read in the
addresses of all Radar Contact users, and plot them on the map. Several
thousand addresses had a problem, so I skipped them. I'm guessing all those
European users are going to be very pleased with all the
"internationalization" work we've done.
October 9, 2005 - Tutorial Documentation Loaded
October 8, 2005 - New Web Page goes Live
I've learned a lot about web pages since Version 3, I hope this
web site is more pleasing to the eye, better organized, and easier to navigate.
We've set December 1st as our tentative release date.
As soon as the Version 4 Manual is ready for browsing, I'll make
it available on the Documentation page. To smooth your transition from
previous versions to Version 4, please read it. If you've never used Radar
Contact, reading the manual is a MUST! Download it, and read it before the CD
arrives.
